Maria’s engagement in the Freifunk Community dates back to 2013. After a semi successful attempt to bring her first router online, she joined the Berlin firmware development team, because she wanted to make the crucial first steps of a router setup easier for others.
Moreover, she has helped various people to set up their own Freifunk router, participated in the installation of multiple Freifunk backbone sites on church towers and administration buildings, and been actively spreading the word about the project.
