Marion Goller
Juristin, promoviert an der Wilhelms Universität Münster
Biographie
Marion Goller studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and at DeMontford University in Leicester. She completed her legal clerkship in Mainz and London. She is now working on her PhD in IP law at Westfälische Wilhelms University Münster. In 2016/2017 she was a Fellow in the “Freies Wissen”-program of Wikimedia Deutschland and the Stifterverband.
In her dissertation, she explores the mechanisms of knowledge enclosure and the opposing movement toward a knowledge commons. She analyses how the strengthening of copyright and patent law and the introduction of new legal instruments of protection can hinder creativity and innovation instead of fostering it and if and how effectively the concept of Free Licensing might counter this development.
